Beauty: Blushing Naturally

I personally like to have a nice flush to my cheeks BUT I use a foundation that has full coverage so by the time I’ve blended that in I’ve lost my natural tone.

In an effort to find something that looked natural (and not too “pink”) I discovered creme blush.

I’d actually gotten a Merle Norman sample in a gift bag but when that ran out I found New York Color’s Blushable Creme Stick.

Best part? It’s only $3.99.

I’m sure there are more high-pigment longer lasting options out there but I like a steal every once in a while and I use good primers & finishing products which can help cheaper products last longer.

If you haven’t used creme blush before it’s very much like applying liquid foundation. First apply some circles of color (don’t be afraid of the color).

I look like Raggety Ann!

Then blend, blend, blend! If you’re not already using a makeup brush for foundation…get one! You can always use your sponge to finish. The nice thing about using creme blush is the buildable color, if you don’t get enough color the first time you can just add more.

(I’m not actually left-handed)

I feel like it blends better with my foundation rather than a powder blush which can stick to it too much. Also if you don’t wear foundation this is a nice way to add natural looking color to your face.

Just pinched cheeks!

Looks great! I’m a huge fan of Tarte Cheek Stain, and I agree USE A FOUNDATION BRUSH 🙂

Where did you learn the “blend” trick? Oh, I remember, from when you smeared your face with my blush at age 3!
